In the case of Google above, they showcase their strength as a brand that\u2019s helping bring people closer through technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"make_your_introduction_count\"><\/span>Make Your Introduction Count<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In the last few years, you might have heard a lot about the lowering attention span of people across the globe. Numerous studies have been conducted by reliable and dubious sources alike, that cites that the average attention span for people watching videos is eight seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, that\u2019s not true at all!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That myth was busted by BBC last year&nbsp;in a report that highlighted that there was very little evidence put in the research. It also highlighted another interesting fact that people\u2019s attention span varies depending on the task at hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today\u2019s audience has a lot of content to filter through. A sub-par video content won\u2019t grab their attention when there\u2019s so much quality stuff out there. To decide whether a video is worth watching, viewers make up their mind in less than a minute of starting a video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It emphasises the need to have a kickass introduction in your video, one that clarifies the purpose of the video and that it\u2019s worthwhile of the user\u2019s time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To do so, there are two things you need:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A Good Hook<br><\/strong>A hook is basically the bait with which you grab the viewer\u2019s attention. The video below by Metro Trains Australia starts with a peaceful lullaby accompanied by an animation of a potato with its head on fire followed by another potato that gets eaten by a bear. And all of this happens within the first ten seconds. It\u2019s sure to catch the viewer\u2019s eye and bait them into sticking around for the whole video. If you make it relevant to your video content and interesting at the same time, it\u2019s sure to make some heads turn around. Think of thumbnails as the first impression. A thumbnail gives an idea of what\u2019s going to come in the video and what viewers can expect.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"_3_the_sound_of_silence-_telling_stories_without_audio\"><\/span>&nbsp;3. The Sound of Silence- Telling Stories Without Audio<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A study conducted by multiple publishers hypothesised that 85%per cent of video views on Facebook occur with sound off. Even though Facebook recently introduced a feature that allows audiences to control if the video will play with sound or without sound, it is important to keep the sound factor in mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your content should be engaging enough to interest audiences when the sound is off. Marketers should focus on creating compelling stories that can effectively transmit their message without the need of sound. Both videos don\u2019t require the user to keep the volume on, to get the message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure style=\"margin-left:100px;\"><iframe width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/QEBYPW4NMmU\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"include_ctas_in_your_videos\"><\/span>Include CTA\u2019s in Your Videos<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>CTA\u2019s (Call To Action) is a text or image that prompts your viewers to perform a certain action. CTAs are important in video marketing (or any marketing for that matter) as they guide your viewing audience towards the next step, in turning them into leads and eventually customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a video, CTAs don\u2019t have to necessarily be about lead generation, such as Buy Now, Start Free Trial, etc. CTAs for videos could be about:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Subscribing to your channel to get updates and notifications of new content<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Watch more videos shared by your page<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Share the video among your social circle<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Comment on the video<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The image below is a screenshot of a video shared by Vox on their Youtube page. Towards the end of the video, the CTA\u2019s that appear are the Vox insignia (which takes users to the Vox Youtube page) and a video recommendation (related to the video just watched). Production value refers to the use of light, sound, visuals, props and camera, to enhance a content\u2019s quality and value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you look at the video content available across different platforms, a recurring theme observed is the high quality of these videos. Blame it on content saturation, but to get the audience invested, you need to invest in a good camera and other studio requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The buck doesn\u2019t stop there. After you have your footage ready, it\u2019s time to edit it during post-production. Editing is a fine art and requires an eye for detail along with the ability to smoothen any footage.
