You can also use the government portal directly to file ITR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-who-cannot-file-itr-3\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"who_cannot_file_itr-3\"><\/span>Who Cannot File ITR-3?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s just as important to know who is not eligible:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Salaried employees who do not earn from a business or profession do not come under ITR-3 applicability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Individuals with only capital gains, interest, or rental income.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In simple words, if you earn from sources limited to salary, pension, or basic investments, you don\u2019t need Form ITR-3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-due-date-itr-3-filing-in-ay-2026-27\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"due_date_itr-3_filing_in_ay_2026-27\"><\/span>Due Date ITR-3 Filing in AY 2026-27<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>ITR-3 filing last date for taxpayers is August 31, 2026, for non-audit cases and October 31, 2026, for audit cases. Filing ITR late will cost you penalties. It is always advisable not to wait until the last moment. Every transaction, with purchase\/sale dates, must be reported.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Opting Out of the New Tax Regime:<\/strong> The form now includes questions about whether you opted out in previous years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Disclosure for Foreign Institutional Investors (FII\/FPI):<\/strong> They must provide their SEBI registration number.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Balance Sheet Reporting:<\/strong> Advances from related parties under Section 40A(2)(b) must be shown under Advances.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Intraday Trading:<\/strong> A new Trading Account section requires turnover and income reporting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-why-is-filing-itr-3-important\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"why_is_filing_itr-3_important\"><\/span>Why is Filing ITR-3 Important?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Some taxpayers wonder that if TDS is already deducted, then why they should file ITR.
