Astra International Invests $100 Mn in A Telehealth-Based Startup Named Halodoc

Astra International (an Indonesia-based industrial and automotive group that is controlled by Jardine Matheson, a Hong Kong-based conglomerate), has made an investment of a whopping 100 Mn dollars in Halodoc. Halodoc is a telehealth startup.

The investment was made for the Series D round of funding and the total investment went up to $135 Mn. A lot of investors participated in the round including behemoth Novo Holdings and Singapore-based Openspace Ventures.

In 2016, Halodoc was established with the aim to enhance the healthcare system for 270 Mn people of Indonesia. This startup’s main aim is to offer several healthcare services including online deliveries of drugs and teleconsultations.

Apart from that, Halodoc currently claims to have 20 million active users monthly who have access to more than 3,300 hospitals, 20,000+ medical professionals, and 4,900 pharmacies in Indonesia.
