New Delhi: The rise of artificial intelligence (AI) is putting a pressure on technology to keep our data safe and secure. To tackle this issue, Cisco, a well-known company for making networks and security systems, has introduced a new system to keep data centers and clouds safe.

This new system is called Hypershield, and it is designed to protect all sorts of things like apps, devices etc. It can protect data no matter where they are – whether it’s in a big data center or stored in the cloud. What’s special about Hypershield is that it’s built with AI in mind right from the start.

Cisco’s Hypershield is originally developed for hyperscale public clouds. This system is part of Cisco’s Security Cloud and It will be fully available in August 2024.

Jeetu Patel, Executive VP and GM for Security and Collaboration at Cisco said, “AI has the potential to empower the world’s 8 billion people to have the same impact as 80 billion. With this abundance, we must reimagine the role of the data center – how data centers are connected, secured, operated and scaled.”

He further added, “The power of Cisco Hypershield is that it can put security anywhere you need it – in software, in a server, or in the future even in a network switch. When you have a distributed system that could include hundreds of thousands of enforcement points, simplified management is mission critical. And we need to be orders-of-magnitude more autonomous, at an orders-of-magnitude lower cost.”

Furthermore, Cisco and NVIDIA are joining hands to make sure that the data centers of the future are safe and efficient. They’re using NVIDIA’s advanced AI technology to quickly spot any unusual activity on the network and to create personalized AI assistants to help with security tasks.

By combining NVIDIA’s powerful processors with Cisco’s Hypershield system, they’re making sure that data is protected whether it’s in the cloud or on the edge of the network.
