New Delhi: SAIL (The Steel Authority of India Limited) has collaborated with sentra.world, a SaaS-based startup, located in Bengaluru. This collaboration aims to track down the reduction of carbon emissions in steel production.

In this process, the carbon tracking software by sentra.world would be used at the SAIL steel plant that is located at Durgapur and its divisions for environment management.

sentra.world, a SaaS-based, B2B carbon accounting solution company, helps industries gauge, report, certify, as well as minimize carbon emissions.

This initiative aims to follow eco-friendly and sustainable practices to track and manage CO2 emissions across different production divisions. This effort will help decarbonize the environment and reduce any negative impact on the environment.

sentra.world was founded by Vikas Upadhyay and Harsh Choudhry (ex-McKinsey partners), in 2023. It uses blockchain technology and AI together to track emissions and help reduce them. The software leverages methodologies and standard protocols like GHG, which has been set by WSA (World Steel Association) to keep a tab on carbon emissions. The headquarters of this startup is located in Bengaluru and has acquired a total of $2.0Mn in funding from ventures like Golden Sparrow, RPG Ventures, and Avaana Capital.

This software has been designed to serve industries including chemicals, cement, aluminium, steel, and utilities as these industries are known for emitting greenhouse gases.
