“Making Learning Easier with Google Classroom for Middle School”

Pros : Google Classroom is my go-to because of its simplicity and organization. Its interface is clean, making it easy to find what I need. Plus, it offers smooth transitions between different parts of my class and from one school year to the next.

Cons : While Google Classroom is great, there's one feature I wish it had: the ability to link directly with my school's grade book. It would be so convenient if when I grade an assignment, it automatically synced with the grade book. Some schools have this feature, but unfortunately, mine doesn't.

Reason to switch : My school's main Learning Management System (LMS) often faces technical issues and can be confusing, especially for middle schoolers. Google Classroom, on the other hand, is super accessible and easy for everyone to navigate. That's why it's my top choice for managing my classes.

Especially during remote learning, it serves as a centralized hub for all coursework, making my academic journey smoother and more efficient.

Pros : What I love about Google Classroom is its user-friendly interface. It's designed with students in mind, making it effortless to find what I need. Plus, my professors can easily track our progress and respond to our work using any device they have.

Cons : However, there are a few glitches. Sometimes, even after the academic year ends, old subjects still linger on the homepage. It can be confusing, mixing up past and current classes.

Reason to switch : During the COVID-19 pandemic, when traditional classes became impossible, Google Classroom became our lifeline. It enabled us to continue our studies uninterrupted, bridging the gap between physical and virtual learning.

Pros : This platform helps me stay updated on my child's schoolwork and assignments effortlessly. It's simple to reach out to teachers and ask specific questions about my child's daily activities, enhancing my understanding of their performance. As a result, both my child's performance and communication have improved.

Cons : Occasionally, there might be delays due to teacher availability.

Reason to switch : Google Classroom provides comprehensive information about my child's education. Instead of waiting for in-person meetings, I can promptly reach out to teachers whenever questions arise.

“Streamlined Teaching, Limited Grading Tools”

It's been a joy to use for posting content—announcements and organizing coursework is intuitive and efficient. But the grading interface feels rudimentary, and group assignments are difficult to set up.

Pros : Overall, Google Classroom is a great online tool to organize and release information… The announcement tab is very streamline and is where my students get most of their information. The classwork tab is helpful to organize topics and units.

Cons : I don’t like how hard it is to input marks for each student. I wish there was also a way to organize the people into groups as well for a group assignment online. (like the Canvas feature)

Reason to switch : Canvas offers superior group assignment tools and a more flexible gradebook, which would better suit my needs.

“Organized Assignments, But File Upload Pain”

I love how easy it is to manage assignments and collaborate with Drive, Docs, etc. But submitting files feels tedious—I have to upload to Drive, then link manually in Classroom. It would be smoother if direct uploads were better supported.

Pros : What i appreciate Google classroom is it's seamless integration with Google apps, streamlining assignment management, communication and collaboration.

Cons : One thing I dislike … I need to upload the file in Google Drive and then import the file from drive which is a cumbersome process.

Reason to switch : Canvas allows direct file submissions and a smoother workflow, saving time for both students and teachers.

“Tech-Savvy Teacher’s Dream, Lack of Customization”

As a tech teacher who uses multiple apps, I love how well Classroom integrates—students can easily navigate to everything they need. But I often miss deeper customization options that would let me tailor the interface and workflow.

Pros : Google Classroom has loads of integrations available with so many programs, and it's easy to set up to make it work with them.

Cons : It’s a bit rigid in what I can actually do with it. I can’t get quite as much customization as I’d like.

Reason to switch : Schoology provides greater customization, letting me configure layouts and assignments to match my teaching style.

It's wonderful to have a free platform that's so simple to use—teachers and students pick it up quickly. Still, bugs do appear from time to time, causing frustrations during lessons. At least it seems Google is listening to feedback.

Pros : Positive overall experience—especially considering that it is free and user-friendly.

Cons : Occasional glitches are annoying and can be disruptive to classes, but Google seems to be take guidance from teachers.

Reason to switch : Moodle offers better offline reliability and fewer glitches, which is essential for my standards.

I love how seamlessly Classroom works with Google tools— everything connects nicely. However, navigating it can confuse new users, notifications flood inboxes, and integration with other platforms is minimal.

Pros : Integration with Google Drive, Docs, Meet—“very integrated digital learning environment.

Cons : The interface can be unintuitive, and notifications overwhelming. Integration with non-Google tools is limited.

Reason to switch : DricEd has a more intuitive layout and better integration with non-Microsoft third-party tools.

On the web, Classroom is a clean and intuitive experience, and sharing videos or files is seamless. But the Android app suffers frequent bugs: assignments disappear, and sometimes nothing saves.

Pros : Clean interface that’s easy to learn” and “Powerful media sharing tools.

Cons : Bugs in the Android app … issues with assignments not saved.

Reason to switch : Instancy LCMS has a more stable mobile app, ensuring assignments stick and media sharing works reliably.
