New Delhi: I Own My Data (IOMD) is a startup that is planning to enhance customer’s experience while shopping online. They are planning to do this by eliminating the need for tedious steps like dealing with account and password creation, getting rid of promotional mails and texts and even deal with the captcha, all through its new platform named Node. E-commerce businesses can also get benefits by offering an easier and convenient way for the customers to buy from their websites.

The company is all set to “flip the script” through its Node platform for commerce businesses. It helps customers to save, store and retrieve all the personal data, purchases and transactions on their devices, so that people don’t have to re-enter their information again and again on websites.

Rohan Mahadevan, the founder and CEO of I Own My Data, said that he founded the company the previous year when he got frustrated while shopping online. As a customer, he had to fill and re-verify all the details to validate his identity on every website he visited.

Mahadevan who also worked at PayPal for 15 years said “It’s similar to Amazon’s one-click purchases, but works across merchants, so they can rely less on a single platform.” He also added that “We can serve any merchant, anywhere, but we think those who have a big proportion of visitors who checkout as guests will be the first to truly love us.” He further added that “Merchants who sell cosmetics, specialty food, fashion, baby or pet products and other frequent, but not subscription products will benefit in the biggest and most immediate way.”

IOMD’s Node has also raised a seed funding of $2.75 million. The round was led by Neobrite Ventures, Boku, PayPal, Meta and others. They are planning to use the fund for their product development and planning to reach international customers. The company currently has 20 employees and they are onboarding new merchants for its beta program. They have also launched a live app in the Apple App Store.
