Always request a transparent quote and a sample pricing breakdown for your estimated user base.

5. What Kind of Support & Training Is Provided?

Even the best LMS needs reliable support, especially during rollout.

Ask:

  • Is onboarding assistance included?
  • Do you provide live support or just ticket-based help?
  • What’s the average support response time?
  • Are training videos, help docs, or live webinars available?.

Check customer reviews to validate vendor claims, especially around responsiveness

6. Is the Platform Scalable as We Grow?

You don’t want to outgrow your LMS in a year.

Clarify:

  • Is there a user limit per plan?
  • Can we create multi-tenant structures (e.g., different training portals for different teams)?
  • How easy is it to upgrade?

Also, ask about performance under load, especially if you expect 1,000+ learners.

7. How Secure Is the LMS, and Does It Meet Compliance Needs?

With sensitive employee or learner data involved, security is critical.

Ask the vendor:

  • What data protection standards do you follow (GDPR, SOC 2, etc.)?
  • Is data encrypted at rest and in transit?
  • Are regular security audits conducted?

For some industries, LMS compliance with HIPAA or ISO standards may also be mandatory; don’t skip that.
