“Free to Use but Ads Can Be Annoying”

The fact that ColorNote is free to use is great. The free version's advertisements can be a little bothersome when I am attempting to work fast and concentrate.

Pros : I like how it is free. I can use it without any hidden charges which is good when you are on a budget.

Cons : However, it has ads on the free version that can be annoying when I am trying to work quickly.

Switched from : GoodNotes

Reason to switch : ColorNote was a better fit since it offered a free version with decent features.

“Reliable Backup but Limited Cloud Editing”

The fact that ColorNote allows me to back up my notes to an SD card or Google Drive is helpful. But since I cannot change my notes directly in the cloud, my data can be stuck in the app if I misplace my smartphone.

Pros : It allows me to back up my notes to Google Drive or an SD card. I do not need to worry about losing anything important.

Cons : I could not edit my notes directly in the cloud which means if I lose my device, my data is stuck in the app.

Switched from : Obsidian

Reason to switch : I moved to ColorNote from Obsidian since I wanted a simpler and easier to use for quick notetaking.

“Secure and Simple but Missing Media Support”

The security that ColorNote offers is one of my favourite features. I feel secure knowing that I can password-protect my notes. It can be restricting, though, as it only allows words to be added to notes.

Pros : I like how secure it makes me feel. I can lock my notes with a password which is nice for keeping personal info safe.

Cons : It does not support rich media. You cannot add images or files into your notes, so it is just limited to text.

Switched from : Notability

Reason to switch : Notability is great but it felt too complex for what I needed.
