“Good VPN for everyday use but power-users might need more”

For my usual use streaming, travel, occasional secure browsing Surfshark works very well. I recognise it’s not the “perfect VPN” for hardcore privacy or max speed, but for what I need it strikes a good balance.

Pros : Surfshark is great for everyday tasks: streaming, browsing, public-WiFi safety, and moderate privacy.

Cons : Heavy users (P2P, heavy torrenting, enterprise-level privacy) sometimes find the shared IP model or speed fluctuations limiting.

Switched from : Psiphon VPN

Reason to switch : I switched because those premium solutions were expensive and overkill for my needs; Surfshark offered “good enough” at a reasonable cost.

Cons : In certain locations, connecting to a stable server can be tricky, depending on local restrictions or ISP throttling.

Switched from : Cyberghost

“Nice balance of cost, privacy, and streaming access but not perfect”

For me, Surfshark hits a good middle-ground: not too expensive, decent privacy, and reasonable service for streaming or browsing. Sometimes I hit hiccups when streaming platforms detect VPN, but switching servers usually solves it.

Pros : Surfshark delivers a solid balance: affordable, private, and able to access streaming services often blocked otherwise.

Cons : Because it’s a shared-user VPN, sometimes IP addresses get flagged by streaming services and you have to switch servers.

Switched from : MullVAD

Reason to switch : I switched because older VPNs had poor performance and privacy issues; Surfshark offered a better, balanced upgrade.
