“Good for Basic Protection—Steer Clear If You Want Control”

I grabbed Norton Secure VPN after trialing it on my phone, and setting it up was frictionless. It’s great for everyday protection—especially on public Wi Fi—where it toggles on automatically. While streaming YouTube or sending emails, it’s smooth and mostly glitch-free. That said, it occasionally fails to connect on my 4G line, and I’ve had to toggle it off and on a few times. Also, even with basics working well, it feels a bit pricey compared to similar VPNs without Norton branding.

Pros : Easy installation, solid protection, reliable on public Wi Fi.

Cons : Occasional connection fails on 4G/LTE, subscription costs feel high.

Reason to switch : I switched from Kaspersky’s VPN to Norton because it offered better ease-of-use and stronger integration with the existing Norton suite I already had.

“Simple, Fast, But Not for Power Users”

I’ve been using Norton Secure VPN mainly for daily browsing and light streaming, and it makes life easy. The app is just a toggle—no complex settings or confusing protocols. It automatically kicks in on public Wi Fi, so I don't have to worry about hackers when I’m out. Generally, it feels secure and responsive; I can easily check email, scroll social media, and even stream an episode or two without buffering. But if you're like me and occasionally stream in HD or game online, you’ll notice it isn’t the fastest. Some geo-restricted services also block it occasionally, so I sometimes have to manually switch servers.

Pros : Super easy to use, tight encryption, auto-connect on public Wi Fi is comforting.

Cons : Speeds are okay but lag behind heavy hitters; won’t unlock everything consistently.

Switched from : ExpressVPN

Reason to switch : I moved from ExpressVPN because I wanted something integrated with my Norton 360 suite and way simpler to manage—no need to juggle multiple apps and accounts.

I stick with Norton Secure VPN because it fits neatly into my Norton 360 environment, and that’s convenient. Setting it up was a breeze, and I appreciate that it masks my IP and filters trackers while browsing. The Windows app interface is clean and anyone could use it. But during testing, its kill-switch didn’t always kick in when the connection dropped—it sometimes fell back to unprotected internet. Also, switching to servers outside the US occasionally made speeds noticeably slower, and I’ve experienced a few random disconnects.

Pros : Encryption works well, ad tracker blocking is a nice bonus, integrated with Norton ecosystem.

Cons : Server network is small, kill switch isn’t always dependable on desktop.

Switched from : Cyberghost

Reason to switch : I left CyberGhost because it became pricier over time; Norton was bundled with my existing suite and felt more cost-effective.
