“Reliable for Long-Term Learning Programs”
I appreciate how Moodle has been around for a long time and keeps improving. It’s reliable for managing long-term courses. However, the interface feels dated compared to newer LMS options.
Pros : Moodle is stable and has been around for years, which gives me confidence in its reliability.
Cons : It doesn’t feel as modern as newer LMS platforms.
Switched from : TalentLMS
Reason to switch : Moodle offered better control and ownership of data than TalentLMS.

“Flexible and Open-Source Learning Platform”
I love how Moodle allows me to create courses exactly how I want. Since it’s open-source, I can integrate plugins and customize features freely. It’s perfect for large organizations or universities. However, the learning curve is steep for beginners, and the design could be more modern.
Pros : Moodle is highly customizable and open-source. It gave me full control over the learning environment.
Cons : The interface looks a bit outdated and takes time for new users to adapt.
Switched from : Blackboard Learn
Reason to switch : Moodle offered a free and open-source solution, whereas Blackboard was too costly for long-term use.

“Great for Universities, Not So Simple for Small Businesses”
Moodle is a solid choice for educational institutions. It helped me manage multiple courses and student submissions easily. But as a small training business owner, the setup was too complex compared to other LMS options.
Pros : The platform is robust and perfect for managing large student groups.
Cons : Setting it up for a small training business was overwhelming, and the interface feels dated.
Switched from : TalentLMS
Reason to switch : Moodle provided better scalability and customization, while TalentLMS felt limited for larger course catalogs.

“Perfect for Blended Learning Programs”
We’ve successfully delivered blended learning programs using Moodle. Uploading videos, assignments, and quizzes is easy once you learn the system. But the design feels stuck in the past, and students sometimes find it confusing.
Pros : Moodle supports hybrid learning with ease and handles multimedia content well.
Cons : The UI looks old-fashioned and isn’t as intuitive as modern LMS platforms.
Switched from : Google Classroom
Reason to switch : Moodle offered better analytics and grading features compared to Google Classroom.

“Strong Community and Support, But Time-Consuming”
I like being part of the Moodle community. There are tons of resources, and you can get help for almost anything. However, setting up courses and configuring the system is time-consuming, especially if you want it to look polished.
Pros : The community forums are helpful, and there are plenty of resources to learn from.
Cons : It takes a lot of time to configure the platform properly.
Switched from : Schoology
Reason to switch : Moodle gave us full control and avoided vendor lock-in, which Schoology didn’t offer.

“Highly Customizable but Requires Technical Skills”
I enjoy the flexibility Moodle offers, but it requires ongoing technical maintenance. If you want something out-of-the-box, this isn’t it. But if you want full control, it’s perfect.
Pros : The ability to add custom plugins and integrate third-party tools is amazing.
Cons : You need a tech-savvy team to manage everything.
Switched from : Canvas LMS
Reason to switch : Moodle allowed me to implement custom workflows, which Canvas couldn’t support without paid features.

“Excellent for Academic Institutions”
Moodle is a powerhouse for academic institutions. It handles everything from assignments to discussion forums. But if you’re a solo educator, it might feel like overkill.
Pros : Built for universities and large organizations with a strong feature set.
Cons : Too complex for solo educators or small businesses.
Switched from : Teachable
Reason to switch : Moodle offered a complete academic experience compared to Teachable, which is better for individual courses.

“Budget-Friendly Option for Institutions”
Moodle is a great choice for institutions on a budget. We saved on licensing costs, but we had to invest in hosting and an IT team to manage the system.
Pros : Being open-source means no license fees, which saved us a lot of money.
Cons : Requires server hosting and technical know-how.
Switched from : Brightspace
Reason to switch : Moodle eliminated recurring subscription fees that Brightspace required.
