“Smooth Assignment Management with OneNote”
As a new teacher, Schoology’s features like instant grading and OneNote integration were game changers but getting comfy required effort.
Pros : I can create and share tests, grade them easily, and integrate with OneNote so my students get notes in real time.
Cons : It took meeting triangulation, videos, and peer help before I felt comfortable using the LMS.
Switched from : Microsoft Teams
Reason to switch : Teams was more familiar to me but lacked the deeper learning management capabilities of Schoology.

“Seamlessly Integrated with PowerSchool”
Using Schoology district-wide for K–12 has streamlined grading, curriculum delivery, and teacher PD under one roof. The PowerSchool tie-in is powerful.
Pros : I love how easily Schoology integrates with PowerSchool—our pacing, assignments, and teacher development programs all align effortlessly.
Cons : Coming from Canvas, I found the quiz tools less powerful, especially around randomized math question generation.
Switched from : Canvas LMS
Reason to switch : Canvas offered stronger quiz functionality, but Schoology won me over with better PowerSchool integration.

“One Platform for Parents, Teachers, and Students”
Schoology centralizes everything homework, grades, and communication all in one place for the family. Still, I click more than I’d like when uploading materials.
Pros : I appreciate the ability to post assignments, grades, and materials all in one place, all accessible to parents.
Cons : The interface isn’t as intuitive as Google Classroom, and you can only attach one link or file at a time.
Switched from : Google Classroom
Reason to switch : Google Classroom was simpler for basic workflows, but Schoology’s all-in-one approach outshines it in the long run.

“Rich Feature Set, Yet Overwhelming at First”
I love the depth and breadth of tools available—but setting up complex assessments takes patience.
Pros : Schoology gives me discussion forums, messaging, group projects, and collaboration tools in one place.
Cons : The gradebook can be tedious to use for complex grading; customizing layout is limited.
Switched from : Google Classroom
Reason to switch : Google Classroom was simpler, but lacked Schoology’s depth—so I traded simplicity for robust features.

“Great Quiz Generation, with Some Nuances”
Quiz banks save prep time and boost test integrity, but grading isn’t always smart enough with formatting differences.
Pros : I build quiz banks easily and pull randomized questions secure and effective testing.
Cons : Automated grading flags answers wrong with minor punctuation or spacing issues annoying to correct.
Reason to switch : ProProfs gave better formatting recognition, but I needed a full LMS—so I stayed with Schoology and just worked around it.

“Badge Rewards Keep Students Motivated”
It’s satisfying to motivate learners through badges. But academic integrity workflows required extra setup time.
Pros : I love the badges, I can reward students for achievements and customize their experience beautifully.
Cons : I struggled with Turnitin integration initially and it wasn’t straightforward.
Switched from : Canvas LMS
Reason to switch : Canvas had more seamless plagiarism checks, but Schoology’s learner engagement tools keep winning me back.

“Friendly Interface for Teachers and Students”
As a specialist, it’s intuitive—I post resources in minutes. However, as a K–5 teacher, setup feels laborious.
Pros : I find Schoology user-friendly and I can upload videos and navigate the system without hassle.
Cons : For elementary use, uploading lessons and creating links feels clunky.
Switched from : Google Classroom
Reason to switch : Google Classroom’s simplicity helped younger students grasp assignments faster, but lacked Schoology’s broader feature set.

“Organized Grades and Communication”
Managing dozens of classes feels smoother here. But I often guide students through where to upload work.
Pros : I can share resources across 18 classes, keep my students organized, and collaborate easily with other schools.
Cons : Students struggle to find submission areas—turning in assignments isn’t intuitive for everyone.
Switched from : Edmodo
Reason to switch : Edmodo was simpler, but Schoology’s resource architecture allowed better sharing and collaboration.

“Newsfeed Feels Like “Facebook for Schools””
The activity feed brings our course to life, but I’ve wrestled with grades not saving or displaying properly.
Pros : The newsfeed and integration options make Schoology feel social and dynamic.
Cons : Sometimes grading setups glitch configuring assignments correctly can be a headache.
Switched from : Moodle
Reason to switch : Moodle gave great control, but didn’t feel as socially vibrant. I needed something more collaborative.
