Thiruvananthapuram: Establishing various anomalies in the primary agricultural credit societies, the Cooperative Department, on Thursday, has planned to introduce a fresh unified online software to track the online fraudulent activities within the societies in the state.

A senior cooperation department official, on the condition of anonymity, said that several employees have been found misusing the current software provided by the private vendors that lacks certain features. This lack is aiding a few employees in guzzling funds.

Speaking to a reputed media, an official said, “In the software, there is no lock system and the edit option is found to be misused in a majority of the cases where fraudulent activities have been detected.”
He further informed that the registrar of the cooperation department has no control over these anomalies as software is entirely managed by the private vendors.

“It was found that in some societies the transaction closed on the previous day had been edited and added up. In one society, they were using more than one software simultaneously – one to keep the documents of the real transactions and the other to enter data to be submitted to the department. In the Mavelikkara primary agricultural credit society such a fraud was detected,” the official said.

A unified software will help the department to hold a strong control over every activity by the employees. It is to be mentioned that a total of 1644 primary agricultural credit societies in the state are using such software provided by 50 private vendors.
