Fortinet has strengthened its security services by adding newer features to its SD-WAN software and with a next-gen firewall series.

There are two services that Fortinet is introducing which are network underlay and network overlay options. For implementing various popular Cloud and SaaS techniques, SD-WAN’s Underlay Performance Monitoring Service uses FortiGuard’s database and vendor’s the core central management system, FortiManager.

It offers transparency in the working of the underlay network. The service has a setup wizard and monitor which helps users to view application and network performance from one location. It also includes FortiGuard Performance SLA Database support to enable customers to create SLAs (Service Level Agreements for ISP (Internet Service Provider) link performance.

With the vendor’s Fort iCloud service, companies can set up and control SD-WAN services quickly. Fortinet also released FortiGate 90G series of Next Generation Firewalls (NGFW) which are based on SP5 ASIC. It ensures 17x quicker performance and 32x quicker encryption, using 88% less power than standard CPUs. The new firewalls also offer support to AI-Powered Security Services.

This will also make customers aware about upcoming cyber threats by using real-time security data from FortiGuard Lab. The 90G series allows customers to build hybrid mesh firewall which secures hybrid environments and expand modern network firewall controls to various enforcement points. Both services will come into force from Q3 2023.
