GitLab Dedicated is made for users that strictly adhere to data residency, isolation, and private networking. This new platform is offering single-tenant SaaS version of the GitLab Devsecops Platform. Introduced on 15 June, it is hosted and managed by GitLab.

The GitLab Dedicated is deployed on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in a region selected by the user, provided it is supported. This service would enable users to concentrate on more complex business needs as it provides a single platform for delivering software, with planning, deployment, monitoring, and governance.

Its specific features include high availability, scalability, disaster recovery and regular backups with a secondary region in AWS. It also supports SAML OmniAuth for authentication and authorization and provides secure networking and private connectivity. The data which is either at rest or in transit is always encrypted enabling users to specify their own AWS key.

Some of the features of GitLab are not available including advanced search, GitLab-managed runners, or LDAP, smart card, and Kerberos authentication. A previous version of GitLab Dedicated was launched in November 2022 with limited availability. With GitLab dedicated, GitLab intends to provide advancements to the observability stack, support for capabilities like hosted runners, and support for more AWS regions.
