“Could Be Powerful for Selected Use, But Not a General Solution Yet”

I consider using Cluely in product demos or talks where I expect certain questions. But I wouldn’t rely on it in unpredictable interviews. Also, some times I had trouble cancelling or getting refunds, makes me wary.

Pros : For quiet rooms, predictable conversations, and prepared meeting contexts, Cluely’s suggestions & follow-ups are helpful. It does boost confidence.

Cons : In noisy or unexpected meetings, or where speech overlaps, suggestions misfire; sometimes it seems you depend on the tool too much. Also refund / cancellation issues have been reported in Trustpilot.

Reason to switch : I switched from Fellow because I couldn’t anticipate everything. Cluely promised real time assistance. It delivers partially—but I still hedge.

“Marketing Hype vs Reality: Needs Better Speed & Context”

I was excited to try Cluely in job interviews and sales meetings given the hype. In casual conversations it’s okay; in stressful moments the delays or hallucinations make me feel more scrutinized.

Pros : The marketing is strong — “cheat on everything,” “undetectable,” etc.—and it draws you in. Some of the core functionality (prompting, follow-ups) works well in ordinary situations.

Cons : But in high-pressure conversations, the lag of several seconds, plus when prompts are slightly off or generic, makes it look like you’re reading, not conversing. Many reviews call out this mismatch.

Switched from : Fireflies AI

Reason to switch : I switched from Fireflies AI and libraries because they didn’t help in-call. Cluely seemed to fill that gap, though the performance isn’t always there yet.

“Big Privacy Red Flags, But Still Tempting for High-Stakes Situations”

I’ve used Cluely when doing sales calls, especially when I’m less prepared. It helps. But knowing that something like a security lapse could expose my data or transcripts keeps me uneasy.

Pros : Cluely gives me that edge in tricky meetings or when I’m caught off guard. The ability to see suggested responses helps in stressful situations.

Cons : Privacy concerns are huge: the fact it listens, reads screen content, and is “invisible” raises potential legal/regulatory risk. The data breach exposing screenshots etc. (?83,000 users) is worrying.

Switched from : Sembly Notes

Reason to switch : I switched from using Sembly Notes that clearly disclosed its assistance because I wanted privacy and discretion. Cluely provides that—but now I wonder whether the trade-off makes it too risky.
