WhatsApp has rolled out a new functionality named “Message Yourself,” which will let users send reminders, shopping lists, and notes to themselves on WhatsApp.

On 28th Nov, WhatsApp announced the introduction of a new feature for iPhone and Android device users. As per the reports, it was initially tested with WABetaInfo (the WhatsApp beta tracker) in late October.

On WhatsApp, when a user starts a new chat, their contact will be displayed at the top of the contacts list. The chat area where they can communicate with themselves can simply be accessed by tapping that contact.

Although WhatsApp’s native ability to message oneself is recently added, some users have already been employing a workaround for a while. Using the app’s “click to chat” feature, you could already message yourself. But with the new function, users no longer need to take the extra steps required to self-chat using the ‘wa.me’ URL.

In addition, if users don’t want to navigate their chats through their heavily congested chat list, they have the option to simply pin and mark their self-chat to be at the top of the list. To use this functionality, users must search for and choose the contact as “Note to Self.”
