New Delhi: OwnBackup, a SaaS-based data protector app, has renamed itself as the Own Company and is all set to float a Discover product designed to find and inspect the history of the SaaS backup data.

OwnBackup was founded in 2012, and since its launch, it used to backup customer data in the Salesforce SaaS application. Well, this was a huge success, and it attracted significant VC funding from key players, including Salesforce, between 2016 and 2021. This gave OwnBackup a unicorn status with a whopping funding of more than $500 million.

At that time, the company successfully safeguarded Safe Business Cloud Financials, Veeva (related to life sciences), and nCino (related to financial data), including Salesforce. The support for Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM and the power platform was included in August 2021, and the support for ServiceNow was included in the month of June 2022.

The CTO of company, Adrian Kunzle, was quoted saying, “For the first time, customers can easily access all of their historical SaaS data to understand their businesses better, and I’m excited to see our customers unleash the potential of their backups and activate their data as a strategic asset.”

Own Discover is all set to help customers easily investigate their backed-up SaaS data so that they can access it in a self-service manner and use it for carefully analyzing their historical SaaS data so they can identify trends, integrate the SaaS-based data into various external systems without compromising on security, and governance, and for training machine learning models.
