Q: Is load balancer a server or router?

DNS (Domain Name System) and a load balancer serve different purposes. DNS provides domain names into IP addresses and allows users to access websites/services using familiar domain names. On the other hand, a load balancer distributes incoming network traffic across multiple servers. DNS provides the translation between domain names and IP addresses while a load balancer handles traffic distribution.

A gateway server refers to a server that acts as an intermediary between client systems and other servers. On the other hand, a load balancer distributes incoming network traffic across multiple servers. While a load balancer focuses on traffic distribution, a gateway server is more focused on network connectivity and security.

The customer should use the Internal Load Balancing option:

• Internal Load Balancing spreads traffic among internal virtual machines which sample in the same area as a Virtual Private Cloud network.
• It facilitates you to operate and scale your aids behind an internal IP address that is available to system in a VPC (Virtual Private Cloud) network or systems that are bound to your VPC network.

The following three load-balancing services from google cloud support IPv6 clients:

• HTTP(S) Load Balancing
• TCP Proxy Load Balancing
• SSL Proxy Load Balancing

• Application Load balancer
• Network Load Balancer
• Application Load Balancer and Network Load Balancer considerations.
