To draw blood digitally using Photoshop, follow the steps given below:
- Insert the image over the location where you want to place the blood effect
- Then make a new layer and place it above the image layer
- Click on the Brightness/Contrast icon in the layer’s panel
- Set the value of Contrast to 90
- Make a new group and then rename its Color Grad that include three different adjustment layers
- In the first adjustment layer, make changes in Color Lookup to Foggy Night with 16% opacity and the layer mode to Multiply
- The second adjustment layer will be the Selective Color Layer which will affect the Red, Yellow, Black and Neutrals
- The third adjustment layer will be the Curve Layer with the top anchor pushed backwards
- Now make a new layer, choose the Paint tool and then give shape to your dripping blood
- Note: Use the Dark Red shade to do so
- Choose Soft Air Brush and then use Medium Red and fill the shape with it
- Now, choose a Soft Round Brush, decrease its pointer size and then blend the edges
- Shade those areas that you want to highlight
- To add mass to our blood, you must add shadows. To do so, make a new layer and choose the blending mode to Multiply
- Finally, pick a dark shadow color using Dropper tool and then choose Air Brush to smudge the edges
- This would give you a nice flowing blood effect.
