Is Tally Prime a one-time purchase?

Switching from Tally ERP 9 to Tally Prime for keyboard operation is generally not considered difficult. While Tally ERP 9 is an older version and people are accustomed to its shortcut keys, Tally Prime, being a newer version, has made some changes to the keyboard shortcuts. However, many of the keys remain the same as in Tally ERP 9.

For a smooth transition, it’s recommended to initially install Tally Prime in a separate folder and practice with some demo data. Once comfortable, you can then shift your business from Tally Data to Tally Prime. This way, you can ensure a smooth transition while maintaining your current work on Tally ERP 9.

So, while there might be a learning curve involved in getting used to the new keyboard shortcuts in Tally Prime, with practice, the transition can be made smoother.

1. Create existing data backup
2. Open company > Press Alt+Y
3. Select Split from dropdown > Verify Data > Split Data
4. Select Company
5. Add the time period from when you want the data to be split
6. You'll get the data
