“Cool tool, but risks if you’re over-reliant”

I’m an experienced red-teamer and tried Kali GPT out of curiosity. While I saw the benefit, I also had a scenario where the tool suggested a payload that didn’t align perfectly with our target OS and I caught it because I verified manually. My takeaway: this tool is powerful but you must steer it and validate its output.

“Value-for-money for small teams but watch licensing and scope”

My boutique cybersecurity consultancy decided to adopt Kali GPT to sharpen our offerings. The cost was justified by reduced hours per engagement and faster turnaround. But we also built in internal QA to verify every AI-suggested command or exploit. You don’t buy it and forget it.

Pros : For a small red-team or consultancy the investment in Kali GPT gave good ROI: less time wasted, faster deliverables.

Cons : License costs, versioning and verifying the output still require human oversight, you can’t skip the check. Also, you must ensure ethical/authorized usage.

“Excellent for reconnaissance phases, less so for very customised workflows”

In a recent external network-assessment, I used Kali GPT to quickly map assets: “Enumerate subdomains and open ports; budget 2 hours.” It ran parallel scans and collated results neatly. Great for phase-1. Phase-2 (internal pivoting) still required manual tinkering.

Cons : When the engagement required very customised pivoting, lateral movement scripts or internal proprietary tooling, I still had to revert to manual workflows.
