Q:

I am using AutoCAD Mechanical 2016. I've noticed that the Match Properties command has stopped working properly in 2016 and later versions. Sometimes, I have to click multiple times to match properties from one line to another. At times, the line changes color (indicating that the properties have been matched), but then it reverts back to its original color. I experience similar issues when working with hatches. Could this be a layer or parameter issue? Is it a known problem, and how can I fix it?

The cause of the problem is still unknown, however, there is a solution for it. One method is to turn off Amshide, save the drawing, and open it again to run Match Properties. The second method is to change the Command Preview variable to zero.

If you're encountering error messages while selecting the inside of your drawing in AutoCAD Mechanical, it could be due to various reasons:

  • It's possible that the objects you’re trying to select are not recognized as closed shapes.
  • Another possibility is that the layers of the object are locked.
  • Another cause can be the program you are using is corrupted.
