To draw a stick figure running in GIMP, follow the steps given below:

  • Turn on Drawing Guide to trigger the Graph Screen
  • Create a new layer and make eight duplicate copies
  • Draw the side view of the arms and legs of your stick figure
  • Change its pose and repeat this process for all the frames
  • Toggle on Loops, set the value of Frame per Second as 15, set the value of Onion Skin Frame as 1, and Onion Skin Opacity as 70%
  • Now for the head we will make a circle, tap on Freehand and encircle the area
  • Use Selection tool, cut a circle and place the head over the body
  • Do the same for all the frames
  • Once you are done placing all the heads. Go to the Layer’s menu and merge all the layers
  • Press the play button and there you have it, a running stick figure.
