I earned a couple of HackerRank certificates; recruiters seem to value them sometimes, especially for junior roles. It helped me land interviews I otherwise wouldn’t have.

Pros : The certificate programs and skill badges help me demonstrate competence to recruiters/employers. Useful to add to resumes/profile.

Cons : Some certificates are seen as less meaningful if employers don’t recognize them; also cost of some certifications is high.

Pros : The coding tests in HackerRank are very difficult and have been the best way that we have found to screen the suitable candidates on deep technical skills.

Cons : The online compiler for some languages is outdated; in a competition I lost time because a required library wasn't available.

Reason to switch : I switched from Codility because its challenge library was smaller and the compiler limitations were more restrictive; HackerRank gave me more variety and flexibility in test creation.

Pros : It has many classic interview questions, and doing them regularly builds up confidence. I like the discussion forums attached.

Cons : Sometimes discussions / editorial are behind paywalls or not detailed. Some test cases are simplistic.

Reason to switch : I moved from LeetCode because LeetCode’s community and UI were good, but HackerRank’s beginner-friendly setup and discussions helped me learn more steadily and fill in weak spots.
