Sketchbook Software Overview

What is Sketchbook?

Sketchbook is a sketching software for designers. It lets you do everything related to sketches, right from implementing quick conceptual sketches to fully finished artwork. This design software comes with powerful creative sketching tools that enable users to implement any creative idea into sketches anytime, anywhere. It helps draw with distractions and also allows scan sketch imports to be used digitally for inking and coloring.

How can one capture ideas into a canvas instantly?

Sketchbook allows one to jot down ideas instantly into creative sketches. There is a tool called Scan Sketch that helps one to use the mobile camera as a scanner. You can scan and import your line art, along with a transparent background to make your sketches ready for inking and colouring. The UI stays incognito until one uses a brush, marker or pencil. This allows the designer to implement the concept and focus on creativity instead of concentrating on the menus. Creators rely on this software for its speed and accuracy. It has a drawing engine that can handle a 100 mpx drawing canvas efficiently.

Pricing of Sketchbook

Sketchbook pricing starts at INR 1349 at techjockey.com.

The overall pricing model is based on different factors such as personalization, extra features required, total users, and the deployment type. Please feel free to request a call from our product experts if you want to learn more about our subscription plans or premium package deals.

How can users make sketches into illustrative art?

Illustrative art is a powerful art form that clarifies, illuminates or merely decorates a written text into life. The software contains all the familiar tools of sketching fit into a digital space. It consists of pencils, markers, inks, and 190+ customizable brushes to incorporate both shapes and textures. The most used tool by designers, the Copic Color Library, is also available with Sketchbook.

In order to draw accurate lines, you can opt for ellipse guides, traditional rulers or the 16-sector Predictive Stroke and Radial Symmetry features. These features not only help in drawing specific lines but also assist in smoothing them out. One can export their art as a JPG, PNG or a PSD file across devices. You can preserve your layered PSD files in both imports and exports, including layer names, blending modes and groups.

“From Quick Ideas to Polished Concepts”

As a concept artist, I need to be able to quickly capture ideas as they come to me. Sketchbook is perfect for this. I can jot down rough sketches and then easily refine them into more polished concepts. The brushes feel great, and I love how I can customize them to get just the right texture. The scan sketch feature is also a huge plus – I can quickly digitize my traditional sketches and continue working on them in the app.

Pros

Great for quick sketching and idea generation, customizable brushes, smooth performance even on large canvases, scan sketch feature is super handy, supports various file formats for exporting

Cons

Some of the really advanced features are only in the paid version, and sometimes there are minor glitches after updates
