“Affordable Protection, but Not Lab-Tested”

Zillya’s features—mail scanner, firewall, USB shield, heuristic motor—for €25/year is hard to beat. But a quick search showed zero AV-Comparatives or AV-Test reporting, which makes me slightly uneasy. Seems solid, but unproven in lab results.

“Lightweight but FeatureLean””

I switched over because my old AV was slowing down my laptop. Zillya boots quickly, rarely slows me down, and its firewall pops up only when an app tries to connect online. I liked approving or blocking at the fly. But it felt too basic—I wished for a scan-depth slider and deeper scan options. Still, it suits casual use.

I called late at night when my USB protection tripped unexpectedly. They answered and walked me through it—awesome. But the rep spoke in Russian with rough English, and the manual is very Russian-focused. Without translation, advanced help can be tricky.

I swap USBs constantly and Zillya blocks autorun threats automatically, which is a lifesaver. But when I tried creating a parental block list, it was too shallow—no password protection or lockdown. Kids breezed past it.

“Heuristic Catches but Triggers False Alarms”

Its heuristic module flagged a mod tool I use, which actually is a red flag turned friend. That’s great. But it also flagged Chrome installer, Steam, and VLC as Trojans—so I spent way too long whitelisting them. It’s a trade-off: proactive detection, but it can be overzealous.
