Yes, a new Marketing Campaign can be created, labeled something such as "Lead-Xtreme", and then configured so that all Lead-Xtreme future leads are assigned to that campaign.
The option to send notification for added or updated events must be checked for the user. From User's Account Settings page > Calendars and Callbacks Tab > Look for "Prompt to send email notification for added or updated" option.
